Exploring QDA Methods

  • Digging deep into Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) methods: Thematic Analysis & Grounded Theory1
  • I found Quadro a few weeks ago: A QDA plugin that sparked my new interest in Data Analysis.
  • From Entry 2 (AGP), I found myself annotating based on ‘themes’ I noticed across papers.2 For example: “theme: rich Office Hours”
  • I think I might adopt a thematic analysis-like approach to this research as it provides tools such as coding and theme generation, that could help structure the results from these ‘data files’ (papers3)
  • Dedicated paper reading days for AGP are Saturday and Sundays due to my current intern status.

Meta

  • I now use robocopy to watch for changes to 10-projects/Inkspire and reflect that in quartz/content. Effectively getting rid of quartz issues with symlinks.
  • Implemented this site’s responsiveness fix.

Footnotes

  1. A little beyond the scope of this research, but I’m acquainted with Grounded Theory. Hence, I decided to explore it further.

  2. I didn’t know ‘themes’ were actually a thing in QDA. They sounded like the best way to organize recurring phenomena in the papers I was reading.

  3. I have been researching QDA a little too much lately. 😅
